How will the audio work for Drive-In the Woods?

Drive-In the Woods will feature an FM transmission directly to your vehicle’s radio, with secondary audio through a speaker system audible from outside your vehicle.  

 

Is this event family friendly?

Drive-In the Woods will offer a family friendly early movie at 7 pm. The late movie at 9:30 will feature contemporary horror classics not necessarily suitable for younger audiences.  

 

What Covid safety measures are in place to ensure everyone’s safety?

Cars will be parked in spaced out rows with an empty full car space adjacent to your vehicle where you can set up your own private viewing area.  You are expected to stay within this viewing area during the movie, with the exception of trips to the bathroom and vending areas.  Masks are encouraged, however not required when you are seated in your viewing area. When moving from your area to public areas, masks are recommended.  

What should I expect upon arriving for Drive-In the Woods?  

Entry is located just South of the main entrance to Woodlands Nature Reserve, marked with Drive-In the Woods banners on either side of the road.  If you pass the drive-in entrance, you can pull in the main entrance to turn around and travel the 300 yards or so to the drive-in entrance.  Gates to the property open at 12 pm each day;  all vehicle passes purchased to the both early and late showings come with a full day pass to enjoy the property.  Early arrivals will be parked in an area separate from the movie viewing area, and will then get in queue prior to drive-in gates opening at 5 pm.  Viewing locations will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with locations closest to the screen filled in first. Those arriving solely for the movie will be lined up prior to gates opening at 5 pm.Gates to the late feature will open approximately 9 pm prior to a 9:30 start time.  

How many people are allowed per vehicle? 

Each vehicle pass is good for up to 4 people, and additional passengers are $10, for up to 8 people per area. 

 

What kind of bathrooms are available at Drive-In The Woods?

There will be a large, air-conditioned trailer style bathroom facilities with 5 stalls and multiple sinks for hand washing.  Bathroom is cleaned and sanitized regularly.  

 

Will there be food and drinks available?

There will be different local food trucks and vendors offering concessions.  We recommend bringing a back up food option in the event there is any mechanical issues with food trucks, however we anticipate at least one food truck at each showing.

 

What is NOT ALLOWED at Drive-In the Woods at Woodlands Nature Reserve?

  • Illegal drugs

  • Glass in any form

  • Weapons of any type 

  • Fireworks

  • Laser pointers

  • Drones

  • Smoking 

 

What IS ALLOWED at Drive-In the Woods at Woodlands Nature Reserve?

  • Coolers with your own beverages, chairs, blankets are welcome

  • Food

  • Wheel Chairs & Walking Canes

  • Baby Strollers

 

What is the refund policy?

Drive-In the Woods is a rain or shine event. All sales are final. In instances of extreme weather conditions, event cancellations are possible and refunds will issued.

Where is the entrance to Drive-In the Woods at The Woodlands Nature Reserve?

Drive-In the Woods entrance is located just South of the main entrance to Woodlands Nature Reserve, marked with Drive-In the Woods banners on either side of the road.  If you pass the drive-in entrance, you can pull in the main entrance to turn around and travel the 300 yards or so to the drive-in entrance.   Woodlands Nature Reserve is just 20-minutes west from downtown Charleston on Highway 61.

Can I bring my service dog or pet?

Well behaved dogs on leash are allowed. Please be courteous and clean up after your pet. Excessive barking during show times will not be permissible.

 

How big are the Drive-in The Woods grounds?

Car capacity on Bailey's Field will be limited to 150 cars.

 

Can I camp overnight:

Yes! We offer several options for staying in the woods overnight. Please see the "Stay" tab at the top of this website. ​

Can I purchase tickets at the door?

 We have had shows sell out, thus we highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance.  However, you can buy tickets at the door via credit card or cash, based on availability.  

 

What if I arrive and the show is sold out?

If vehicle passes sell out, we’ll offer a limited amount of walk-in lawn tickets.  You’ll park in our main parking area and make a short 5 minute walk to the drive-in viewing area.
